The city of Fontana is located in San Bernardino County in the state of California. The community was established in 1913 by founder Azariel Blanchard Miller, who was a farmer, rancher, and property developer. In its early days, the city became an agricultural center renowned for its orange orchards, vineyards, and ranches.

In the 1950s and 1960s, the town became the site of the Fontana Drag City, a National Hot Rod Association racing circuit. In 2006, the city’s racing heritage was revived with the building in 1997 of the Auto Club Speedway, which has since been hosting NASCAR racing events.

Today, Fontana has more than 203,000 residents. The city is home to the Lewis Library and Technology Center, the largest library in San Bernardino County, and it is also the site of the Center Stage Theater, an Art Deco building built in 1937.
